I trained at the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology, Regent's College, London and hold a Masters Degree in Psychotherapy. I am a Registered and Accredited Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), the British Psychological Society (BPsS) and the Society for Existential Analysis (SEA). I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice. Before beginning my training in psychotherapy I gained an Honours Degree in Psychology.
I practise Existential Psychotherapy and my work has been published by the Journal for the Society of Existential Analysis. My training includes working within schools, a national parenting organisation and a national miscarriage charity. My clinical training was within an NHS General Practice setting, in which I continue to offer psychotherapy sessions and in addition to this and my private practice, I work as psychotherapist on a voluntary basis with a charity for vulnerable women.
Before training as a psychotherapist I spent almost twenty-five years in the marketing sector and was the Managing Director of a communications company.
I believe that we approach our lives and our issues informed by our own understanding, assumptions and attitudes, which are ultimately underpinned by our own philosophy of life. While the past plays its part in the creation of this philosophy, the focus is on the present as we explore the way you make sense of your existence. In doing so we open up choices and the potential for the future.
